Natural Better than Conventional for Osteoarthritis
As with most degenerative diseases, conventional medicine has
little to offer people who have osteoarthritis. Anti-inflammatory drugs, such as
aspirin, ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil), naproxen (Naprosyn), and piroxicam (Feldene)
may relieve the symptoms, but they do not slow the rate of joint destruction. In
fact, there is evidence that taking these drugs may cause the joints to
deteriorate faster (Lancet 1989; 2:519-522).
An effective treatment for osteoarthritis is glucosamine
sulfate (GS), a compound that occurs naturally in the body. GS is one of the
body’s building blocks for joint cartilage and has been shown to prevent the
degeneration of joint tissue. Because of these two functions, it seems like as
ideal agent for preserving and repairing joints.

Words from us…
Wayne’s World
This months’ theme is bone
health. Recurring joint pain affects millions of Americans, while other
individuals report episodes of acute joint and back pain. These kinds of
problems can result in chronic pain, lead to stiffness, weakness, and in a few
cases, deformity. Aside from athletic injuries, sometimes these problems can be
traced to frequent consumption of certain foods. There is also a tendency for
joint problems to be genetically influenced. Our recommendations include better
conditioning and dietary modifications. These modifications include reducing
animal proteins, tomatoes, potatoes, bell peppers, red wine and other foods.
Consistent, proper exercise can help our joints build flexibility and strength.
Stay Healthy! has an array of well-researched supplements and formulas that may
help in the maintenance of joint flexibility and the rebuilding of cartilage.
You can also ask us about the right combination of nutrients to help damaged
tissues and reduce inflammation. Remember, movement is dependant on tendons,
ligaments and joints working in tandem with muscles and bones. Get involved now
with proper exercise and good food choices, stress reduction, plenty of pure
water and deep breathing. Complement these recommendations with appropriate
supplementation of key nutrients.
Thank you so much for your patronage. Stay Healthy!

Colostrum helps prevent and destroy
disease. According to Dr. Donald Henderson, Leaky Gut Syndrome is the root of
several autoimmune diseases including rheumatoid arthritis. He states, "For
individuals who… have a disease associated with leaky gut syndrome, colostrum is
a critical part of the healing process." The leaky gut must be healed before the
body can heal itself. When a person uses colostrum (Immune Tree) fewer
poisons are released into the system and greater assimilation takes place.
Consequently, a person feels better, has more energy and performs more
efficiently. This subject is covered extensively in Colostrum Natures Healing
Miracle (pp. 35-39) by Donald R. Henderson, MD, MPH and Deborah Mitchell.

answers questions on Osteoarthritis and Osteoporosis:
What are some beneficial nutrients and herbs?
Though calcium and magnesium are important to treat osteoporosis,
in my opinion they are not the most important. There are many other nutrients
required for proper bone health. The most important of these are silics, Vitamin
C, and boron. Silica and vitamin C form the tissue matrix in which the minerals
deposit. Without it all of the calcium and magnesium in the world will not help
you. Boron gives strength to the bones and raises needed hormone levels in men
and women. In fact, boron supplementation, 3mg daily, prevents bone loss in
post-menopausal women not taking estrogen replacement therapy (ERT). In addition
it does not cause the side effects of ERT such as cancer, thyroid dysfunction,
loss of libido, weight gain, depression, etc.
My favorite silica source is diatomaceous earth (80% silica). Sometimes I will
use oatstraw or butcher’s broom. I rarely touch horsetail grass (shavegrass)
because it contains nicotine, which constricts the blood vessels. The fresh herb
also contains an enzyme that destroys thiamine in the body. For a vitamin C
source I like acerola cherry or amla (indian gooseberry). I use these because I
prefer natural vitamin C rather than the synthetic form available in powders and
tablets. The body responds better to the natural C, meaning its effect will be
stronger than with the synthetic.

There are many different types of
massage that can speed the healing process.
Some have been around for thousands of years and work very well in stimulating
the flow of chi (energy). Acupressure, acupuncture, deep tissue and basic
massage can be a great adjunct to any healing regime. Certain pressure points
when stimulated can help to release blocked energy or redirect the flow of
energy to clear out inflammations or send more blood to a specific area. Some
spots on the body are highly sensitive and can be used for specific therapeutic
benefits. The hands and feet have many such points. Give yourself a quick hand
massage and discover the benefits.
Knowledge applied is
