March 2001

One out of every four Americans suffers
from allergies or environmental sensitivities. We are bombarded by media
advertising to use a variety of decongestants, anti-histamines or allergy
remedies. But these remedies all have unpleasant side effects: drowsiness, lack
of concentration and nervousness.
Try one that works! Aller –Max by Country Life has been
formulated to help eliminate excessive response to allergens, reduce
inflammation, boost adrenal output of anti-inflammatories and control the
sneezing, itchy eyes and runny nose of allergy suffers.

The Evelyn Files…
There are several kinds of allergies. Some of the most
common ones are food & environmental. Food allergies can be caused by Leaky
gut syndrome or intolerance (See Eat Right For Your
Blood Type) or incorrect food combining. May I suggest Immune Tree
colstrum & digestive enzymes by Flora for these conditions.
For allergies caused by pollution, trees, shrubs, grasses etc., I
suggest the "Las Vegas Mix" by Dolisos or "Environmental Cleanse" by
Hanna Kroeger. "Moducare Sterinol" by Natural Balance also helps to
eliminate allergies. Finally the liver (our internal lab)
needs cleansing at least twice a year to prevent and eliminate allergies.
Good health to you always. Evelyn J
James Sloane answers
questions on Allergies: What can I do to help with
allergies?
Allergies are a result of adrenal exhaustion. In this state the adrenals cannot
produce sufficient antiallergenic adrenocorticosteroids and epinephrine.
Pantothenic acid helps support adrenal gland function. The highest herbal source
for pantothenic acid is bee pollen. Vitamin C is also extremely important since
the adrenals are the biggest user of vitamin C in the body. Vitamin C should be
combined with bioflavonoids, especially quercetin, which is an antihistamine.
The highest herbal source of vitamin C are amla berries. Adaptogenic herbs also
help support adrenal health and function. Examples of adaptogenic herbs are
astragalus, schizandra, Siberian ginseng, suma, ashwaganda, & licorice root.
Though not considered to be adaptogens, bee pollen, kelp, and nettle leaf are
also supportive to the adrenal glands. Stress, stimulants, steroids, smoking and
sugar all suppress adrenal function.
J.C. Speaking Words of
Wisdom
Remember that walking, running,
biking, chi Kung, yoga and other activities increase your
endorphin levels, thereby strengthening your immune system. Exercise also helps
with allergies by reducing stress in your life.
Exercise will give you that extra edge and mental
sharpness for staying healthy in today’s fast -paced, hectic world.
Knowledge applied is wisdom…
