Words from us

Wayne’s World
My comments this month on heart health center on the work of Matthias Rath, M.D., a German scientist and physician known for his pioneering research in natural and cellular health.  We will gladly give you a copy of his book, “Why animals don’t get heart attacks, but people do!”  This free book talks about “a discovery that will eradicate heart disease”.  The book centers on the natural prevention of heart attacks, strokes, high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol and many other cardiovascular conditions.  Simply stated, vitamin deficiency in artery wall cells causes heart attacks, strokes and high blood pressure, and vitamin deficiency in heart muscle cells causes irregular heartbeat and heart failure.  An optimum intake of the vitamins C, E, and A, antioxidants, and amino acids such as Lysine and Proline are discussed at length.  Certain dietary preferences, such as the consumption of wine and olive oil, which are rich in bioflavonoids and vitamin E, are emphasized for their particular importance.  The book is spectacular and free for the asking, as is a free CD on Dr. Rath Lectures.  Several weeks ago we even had our own after-hours seminar in-store with two of Dr. Rath’s key educators.  Please inquire at 877-2494 for more valuable information on Stay Healthy! health seminars, or sign-up for our e-mail notification list on important health-related events.          Stay Healthy! carries many excellent heart-healthy formulas by quality manufacturers, such as MRM, Lifetime, Nature’s Way, New Chapter and Jarrow.  Check out their super deals on the front page coupon section.  Health is wealth folks, so remain proactive with your own.
Thank you so much for your patronage. Stay Healthy!

Jenny's Jive:    Through the years Americans have become accustomed to unhealthy eating habits, smoking, stress, & lack of exercise. Little do people know that these unhealthy habits increase the risk of cardiovascular disease. Cardiovascular disease affects one of the most important organs, the heart. This small organ about the size of a baseball & weighing between 8-12 ounces can be protected. Clinical research has proven herbs & vitamins to be helpful in the prevention of cardiovascular disease. Hawthorn, derived from the leaves, flowers, & berries of a European shrub, is one of the world’s most effective heart supplements. It increases blood flow, improves circulation, & normalizes the heart beat. In addition to improving symptoms, regular use of this herb may reverse cardiovascular disease!  Please visit us soon to learn more about hawthorn.

Jeff's Positive Vibrations:  Of the entire world’s people, American’s are at the highest risk for heart disease. It’s still our biggest killer. A million of us die each year because of heart problems. Yet, experts tell us most heart disease is 100% preventable with changes in diet and lifestyle. Heart disease was almost unknown before the turn of the century. Today, two-thirds of America suffers from some kind of cardiovascular disease. Natural therapies are proving to reduce mortality better than aggressive medical intervention or even the most advanced drug treatment. Homocysteine is big news today. It is a body substance that helps manufacture proteins and assist with cellular metabolism. It is a harmless amino acid, but in excess, can cause blood platelets to clump and vein walls to break down, leading to arteriosclerosis and coronary disease. People with high levels are 4.5 times more likely to die of heart disease than other people. Estimates show that 1in 5 cardiac cases can be attributed to high homocysteine levels and women with high levels and low folic acid in the blood are twice as likely to have a heart attack as women with normal levels. Factors that contribute to high homocysteine levels are too much protein and a vitamin B deficiency (especially B6, B12 and folic acid). Prescription drugs deplete B vitamins. Coffee and nicotine cause a higher level of homocysteine. Good steps to lower homocysteine are a B vitamin complex, 100 mg daily, along with 50 mg of B6 and 400 mcg of folic acid to break down homocysteine.  Four garlic capsules (1200 mg a day) maintain aortic elasticity.  Take ginger daily. Ginger acts the same as aspirin without aspirin’s side effects. Reduce saturated fats in your diet and add the good fats like EFA’s (fish, flax oil, etc.).

J.C. Speaking Words of Wisdom

A heart system that is strong and healthy would present itself as an “all-embracing love”.
Relax and Breathe:
Relaxation techniques may include muscle relaxation exercises, guided imagery, meditation and deep-breathing exercises (breathe out longer on the exhalation). Try chi-kung or yoga for added benefits.
Food and Diet:
A combo of carrot, beet, parsley, and spinach juice alkalizes the kidneys and blood, thus eliminating the excess acidity that is usually a contributing factor to hypertension (also provides organic minerals and active enzymes which enhance nerve functions). Eating more raw organic foods and less processed foods is also very important.
Life style and Exercise:
Even a single session of exercise can reduce blood pressure. The best type of activity is prolonged but not necessarily strenuous exercise, such as walking, jogging, cycling or tai-chi-chuan.
Supplementation: Herbs like garlic, hawthorn, and cayenne are standard and can be taken everyday for life. Jiaogulan is a great tonic herb for strengthening the heart muscle. Vitamin C from amla (an Indian fruit) or Ester-C and vitamin E are very important, along with a food state CoQ10, an ionic form of magnesium, lecithin (egg yolk) and fish oils.
Affirmation:
I release the past. I am at peace. I’m open to receive love and I express my joy freely.
Spiritual: Remember that a sad or broken heart can manifest on the physical level. Pray for yourself and others that have hurt you. Do something healthy for yourself by visiting nature, or take a trip and celebrate life.
