Sleep and proper hydration are two of the “freebies” each of us can do to
improve our overall health and life expectancy.
Another important, if not the most important thing, is to improve your
heart health. Good

Heart problems can be more
than just on the physical level. I believe that many heart problems begin on the
emotional/spiritual level. Yes a sad, broken or heavy heart can cause problems
on the physical level. The Heart is the master organ that harbors the Shen
(spirit), according to Traditional Chinese Medicine. It’s not yet
scientifically proven but the Chinese have believed for about 5000 years that
emotions reside in the organs. The heart controls the mind and the negative
emotions of indifference and the positive emotions of love, and when functioning
properly other organ systems function harmoniously. A heart system that is
strong and healthy would present itself as an “all-embracing love”. Affirmation
to open the heart chakra: “I’m open to receive love and I express my joy
freely”. Herbs such as hawthorn, capsicum (cayenne), garlic and jiaogulan can
strengthen the heart and improve the cardiovascular system. Vitamins such as E,
