Anti-Stress Vitamin
Stress increases the body’s demand for vitamin C.
A recent study reports that vitamin C levels decrease in both the blood and organs when emotional or environmental stress is present.

Words from us

Wayne’s World
Stress and anxiety!!! Now those are two prevalent conditions usually present in an American this time of year. Global conditions compound the problem for us this holiday season.  Besides a deep breath, what can one do? Well, go ahead and take deep breaths, and relax.  After all, things do get attended to in their own time. How about supplementation? Start using quality B-complex formulas carried at Stay Healthy!, up-to-date combinations of the latest clinical studies that truly help your nervous system and give you energy. Essential fatty acids are vital as mood stabilizers and for depression. If depression follows you in the festive season, use our standardized extracts of St. John’s Wort (ask our herbalist, James Sloane, if this is the right choice for you) and inquire about GABA & SAMe.  Natural anti-depressants, herbs, amino acids & minerals can all contribute to your good-mood-well-being during periods of stress and anxiety.  Keep properly hydrated with “Penta” water, and show love for yourself & others.  Love is particularly warranted now on our planet earth.
Enjoy this wonderful holiday season, and Stay Healthy!
Thank you so much for your patronage. Stay Healthy!

The Evelyn Files…
Stress should be considered a deadly disease because it is the root of all dis-eases.  Unfortunately it is a part of everyday life.  May I suggest you invest in Moducare or Holy Basil, and of course, Udo’s Perfected Blend of Oils. These products reduce stress & cortisol levels in the body.  As you probably know, emotional stress & physical stress  (inflammation & pain) raise cortisol, decreases DHEA, suppress the immune system & imbalances the hormones.
Good health to you always. Evelyn J

James Sloane answers questions:
Stress affects us adversely in many ways. Stress increases cortisol levels from the adrenal glands, which in turn decreases adrenal function, shrinks the thymus gland leading to immune suppression, and decreases bone mass. The ability to handle stress depends largely on the health of the adrenal glands, which produce anti-stress hormones. People who stress easily or get “ticked off” at the slightest provocation generally have improperly functioning adrenal glands. Adaptogens is a term applied to herbs that help us to adapt to stress. Some of my favorites are schisandra berries, astragalus, licorice root, suma, ashwaganda, and Siberian ginseng. Though not considered to be adaptogens, amla berry, nettle leaf, and bee pollen are excellent for proper adrenal function.– James Sloane

Tarah’s Corner- Stress is our body’s reaction to a problem or an unexpected change.  It’s as if we have our bodies on cruise control and the moment there’s an obstacle we have to take control to overcome it.  Stress manifests itself differently in each person. Some people handle stress extremely well, while others can’t handle the slightest change in their everyday routines.  Instead of dwelling on something that has happened or will, it’s better to put our energy into solving the problem.  Deep breathing will calm you down.  Remember, the moment you take control, you can have a positive influence on the situation. It all depends on you.  Sometimes a little stress is good for you, for it can push us to perform better and get things done. So the next time you’re stressed and upset remember you are in control of your feelings. -Tarah

J.C. Speaking Words of Wisdom
We all go through stressful times regardless if you’re rich or poor. Life can deal you a stressful moment at any time (traffic jams, a loved one passing, a bad day at work, etc.).  What can you do to combat stress?  You can use natural supplements (herbs, oils and vitamins) to assist your body, supplements like B-vitamins, Siberian ginseng, Holy basil, lavender oil, and barley grass are some of my favorites. Other things equally important are deep breathing, eating fresh whole foods, drinking lots of water, exercise, and of course having a positive outlook on life.  Praying is another way to get your mind-body-spirit connection back on track after something stressful has happened.

Knowledge applied is wisdom…

NIK Notes: Life is the stresses that force us to make decisions that change our lives.  Enjoy the fact that you are a living, free-thinking individual with the capability to learn and love on unimagined levels.  Embrace your adversities and enjoy your time with us.
