Words from us…
Wayne’s World
Many of us crave more energy in this stress-ridden, sleep-deprived world we live
in. Fatigue is often physical or
mental, and how our bodies feel often influences our minds, and vice versa.
There are a variety of causes of fatigue; illnesses, cancer, heart
disease, chronic fatigue syndrome, arthritis, food allergies, environmental
sensitivities and other disorders.
Ask yourself if the fatigue you suffer from can best be remedied through
supplementation, or treated more effectively through diet, meditation, lifestyle
changes or a blend of these. A
primary culprit is lack of sleep, which can result in a substantial decline in
immune response. Extended stress
also suppresses the immune system.
Take seriously issues of exercising enough, depression, side effects from
medications, thyroid problems, or anemia.
So what to do? Diet is
critical and is often the key to more energy.
Some people need to eat every few hours.
Drinking enough water is necessary too.
Supplements to consider include bee pollen, royal jelly, ginseng, ginkgo
biloba, vitamin C, amino acids, glandular extracts, and my personal favorite,
sublingual B12. If you must use
stimulants on occasion, consider herbal sources of caffeine such as guarana,
kola nut, and green tea (also a potent antioxidant and improves liver function).
Additional energy boosters are well-known superfoods like chlorella,
spirulina, wheat grass, wheat sprouts, rice bran, barley grass, and blue green
algae. Take enzymes to break down
and digest your good food selections and B complex vitamins during the day (not
at bedtime) to strengthen the health of nerves, the central nervous system and
to promote healthy brain functioning. Ask
our staff or myself about these and other fine nutrients sold at
Stay Healthy! to promote mental alertness and give a solid boost to
your energy. Their effects can be
quite powerful.
Thank you so much for your patronage. Stay Healthy!
Jenny's Jive: Fatigue
is something that happens to us all several times during the course of one’s
life. There are many remedies to help against the physical fatigue that plagues
us all. Vitamins are imperative when combating the wrath of fatigue. If a person
is vitamin deficient, of course they’re going to be tired! Another suggestion
would be an increase in greens! Greens are an excellent natural source of iron.
Not only do they increase energy, but because of the chlorophyll content greens
help to clean cells. B-vitamins are helpful fatigue fighters. They give us
energy as well as help calm the nerves. Then there is the all-famous Siberian
ginseng, which technically is not a ginseng. The German Commission E
approves Siberian ginseng as a tonic in times of fatigue & debility. Siberian
ginseng is an adaptogen because of its ability to increase nonspecific
resistance, help modulate stress, & improve performance under stressful
situations. For more information & other suggestions on fighting fatigue, please

Jeff's Positive Vibrations:
Fatigue can hit us at any time or
place and can be caused by so many things in our lives. When fatigue hits we
usually can overcome it by getting a good nights sleep, but because of our
fast-pace lifestyles it is sometimes very hard to do. Some of us choose to grab
coffee and others will end up taking drugs to combat their fatigue, but a better
way to boost your energy levels is to try to get as close to 8 hours sleep as
you can. Also take nutritional supplements such as bee pollen, royal jelly, B
vitamins and C, herbs such as ginseng, gotu kola, ashwaganda, and schisandra.
Natural alternatives to caffeine to get a quick boost would be guarana or green
teas. Other great natural sources of energy would be super foods like chlorella,
spirulina, wheat grass, and barley grass, all very high in vitamins, minerals,
and enzymes. Proteins and carbohydrates are another way of energizing the body,
along with a healthy exercise program. Using the nutritional supplements I
mentioned earlier and finding the time to keep fit can fight off fatigue,
energize and boost the immune system and deal with diseases and stresses with
more energy, vigor and strength. Come on into Stay Healthy! and
let us “rev your engines” with high-octane nutrients.

Speaking Words of Wisdom
Energy is the word
that describes the capacity for work or vigorous activity. Do you want to build
more vitality with clean, clear, and lasting energy? Superior tonic herbs are a
real answer to building up and storing more overall energy and having exuberant
health, balancing the bodies five organs systems (heart, lung, kidney, liver,
and spleen). These herbs are more specialty, high nutritional foods than they
are medicines, safe for long term daily use by virtually everyone. Superior
tonic herbs are defined as agents that invigorate, strengthen and balance one or
more of the three treasures (jing, chi, and shen). According to Traditional
Chinese Medicine jing is life essence that we bring with us and inherit at
birth, chi is daily energy we acquire from breathing and from food, and shen is
our energy that drives mental, emotional and spiritual pursuits that reside in
the heart. Some of these herbs are astragalus, schisandra, and ashwaganda, to
name just a few. Try “SUPREME CHI-FLOW”
by Warrior Mystic Formulas for a
natural non-stimulating energy burst. Chi-kung is a great way to fortify your
energy because stress can be a big factor in your energy output. It makes sense
to do some sort of stress reduction exercise daily. Of course what you eat is
the main focus of energy. High-powered organic foods are going to make you feel
more alive then dead fast-food junk. Your thoughts play an integral part of your
energy, attitude and outlook on life. Have you noticed that when you’re excited
and inspired about something you feel energized? Try to look at life through the
eyes of a child, taking special note of the great pleasure of small things. DEEP
breathing oxygenates and energizes the entire body, mind and spirit and is the
ultimate way to fight fatigue.
Knowledge applied is wisdom…
Nik Notes: Fatigue
can show itself in a variety of ways. While unhealthy situations such as a poor
diet and lack of sleep are the most common triggers of fatigue, many minor
decisions can leave you in this state. Consumption of alcohol, tobacco and
drugs (including pharmaceutical) will cause fatigue, as can any kind of
persistent pain, no matter how minor. One thing that I was interested to find
out is that apathy can be a symptom of fatigue, which makes me think that there
are many people who are only depressed because they are tired! You may feel
like
Sisyphus, forever
pushing the boulder up the mountain, only to have it roll back down just as you
reach the peak. But life can be rewarding if you want it to be. Build some
tools, call a friend and push that rock over the top!
