“Spring-cleaning” for the body.  Our theme this month dwells on detoxifying your body, for detox is a way to keep your body balanced.  A good detox can correct conscious unhealthy habits (drinking, smoking, drugs) and unconscious toxin intake (pollution, radiation, microbes).  Detoxifying the body can be achieved through green foods, enzymes, and other nutritional supplements.  Remember, a good diet, the right supplementation, hydration, exercise and low levels of stress give the body a better chance at staying healthy.  There are different detoxification programs for what ails a person, including fasts, juice cleanses, more water, regimented exercise programs, colon cleanses, enemas, herb programs and combinations of all these.  Autumn and spring are the perfect times to detox your body to refresh and renew your person.  Please be advised that detoxification is more than a once-a-year event, and that detoxification is a necessity to support your digestive and eliminative systems so that they can’t become overloaded.  Call us today at 877-2494 or visit Stay Healthy!  soon to learn much more about spring-cleaning your body effectively.
Thank you so much for your patronage. Stay Healthy!

The Evelyn Files…
Flor-Essence, the original Essiac formula, is “The Ultimate Detoxifier” according to the book The Essiac Report (p85). Flor-Essence is a Canadian-Indian formula/tea introduced to the world by Rene Caisse, a Canadian nurse. The formula was named by spelling Caisse backwards, ESSIAC. Flor-Essence contains eight healing herbs to help detoxify the body.
This book has three main sections: history of Essiac, the formula and it’s functions, and testimonials. Flor-Essence is used to heal the body by detoxifying it. Drop by our store and pick up a copy of The Essiac Report. You’ll find it fascinating!

Good health to you always. Evelyn J

Answers questions:
My favorite method of cleansing the liver is with digestive bitters. Bitters are sold under the names Swedish Bitters,  or Grape Bitters.  Bitters work by stimulating the bitter receptors on the tongue, which in turn stimulates the vagus nerve. This stimulates the liver to flush, and has a mild stimulant effect on the colon. Bitters also improve digestion by increasing digestive secretions. Recommended dosage is ½ dropper full on the tongue several times a day. For cleansing the blood my favorite herbs are chaparral, hydrangea root, and red clover. To cleanse the lymphatic system I prefer red root, mullein leaf, and small doses of poke root. For colon cleansing I prefer the Ayurvedic herb mixture triphala. It is a mild stimulant laxative that also lowers cholesterol, cleanses the liver, and boosts the immune system. Triphala can be taken  on a regular basis without the risk of causing a laxative dependence.  Always remember to drink plenty of water throughout the day when doing any type of cleanse.

Tarah’s Corner-  It’s that time of year, time to do some spring-cleaning.  We all know what that involves...organizing, dusting, out with the old and in with the new.  However, did you know that when you are cleaning-up house you should be cleansing your body too?  Spring is the best time to do a detox or cleanse for your body.  Over the winter season we tend to eat heavier foods and stay indoors more often.  When spring and summer come along we eat lighter foods and we tend to get out in the fresh air frequently. When we do a cleanse it rids the body of toxins and excess baggage.  I would recommend taking “Ultimate Cleanse” by Nature’s Secret.  These products help you detoxify all five channels of elimination: bowel, kidney, lungs, skin, and lymphatic system.

When it comes to “Spring Cleansing” there are many things one can do, but I favor two steps that can ease the body-mind toxic overload. First of all, ridding the body of accumulated toxins is very important.  I think chlorella is one of the best. Chlorella is a single-cell alga that is a complete source of nutrition (a natural multi-vit) and nature’s highest source of chlorophyll. Chlorophyll is a great internal cleanser, detoxifier and deodorizer. Chlorophyl chelates heavy metals out of the body, oxygenates and builds the blood, and can improve the body’s ability to detox itself.
Secondly, do some simple Chi-Kung (energy work) exercises that help the body rid itself of old stagnant energies (worries, anger, passed injuries, etc.). One of the simplest forms is to bounce or slightly jolt the body. This can be done by rising on the toes and dropping back onto the heels. Imagine the feeling of dark energy falling off the body while you breathe in clear pure white energy. Feel this energy permeate your whole-being, revitalizing you and washing away old energies. This is also a great way to cleanse and open the lymphatic system and a very important exercise to cleanse the aura and ethereal bodies where all disease begins. Come by and see me for more Chi-Kung tips.

Knowledge applied is wisdom…

Nik Notes: Although cleansing can be healing, it is important to balance your body by rebuilding and strengthening your system by eating a healthy diet, taking supplements, doing yoga, etc...
